Word from the Lord
Live!

9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

I was sitting reading this passage and I was kind of puzzled at some of the things that went on in this three verses. If you are like me you will always sit down and wonder why certain things happen a certain way. Jesus rose up and the first person he goes to see is a woman who he cast seven devils out of. Why?

He could have visited Peter, after all he told him that upon this rock I will built my church. Peter was the one that seems to always figure it out or take more risk than the others. He could have visited Mary, His mother, or John the beloved or anyone else. Jesus chose the woman who had serious problems.

Well I think that Jesus knew that Mary was so grateful that if he was to come to her, she would not hesitate to tell someone else that Jesus was alive. The question today is ," WHAT HAVE JESUS DONE FOR YOU THAT YOU ARE SO GRATEFUL ABOUT THAT YOU WON'T HESITATE TO TELL SOMEONE ABOUT HIM." Oh I have so much to be grateful about. Someone might not have been delivered from 7 demons but I'm sure that our Lord, Master and Savior have set you free, healed your body, delievered you out of an abusive relationship, saved your children and husband or etc.

Verse 10 said they wept, but then 11 said they did not believe. Now isn't that just like us? When we heard about Jesus we were grateful but now that you gone through some things we doubt that He is going to do just what he said.

I challenge you my sisters and brothers today that no matter what, Jesus is going to do just as He said. Why did they doubt? He told them that he would be resurrected after the 3rd day. It is the 3rd day season now and God is resurrecting things in our lives. Hang tight and watch the Lord do it again and again in your life.

Because Jesus lives you shall live. The promises of God will never fail in your life.

God bless you,
Apostle Dilliana Deborah Powell
